Wipro and Nokia sign five-year contract for digital transformation

Well-known multinational corporation, Wipro has reportedly signed a five-year contract for digital transformation with global networking and telecom player, Nokia. Apparently, the size of the deal has not been disclosed.

Following the contract, the Indian IT behemoth will provide business services in support of Nokia’s renewed operating model. It will focus on touchless processing, process optimization and enhanced user experience across order management supply chain, accounting operations and finance.

According to sources, Nokia, through this partnership, will take a significant step toward digitalizing its operations by effectively utilizing Wipro’s transformation and innovation capabilities.

Wipro’s senior vice president (VP) and managing director (MD) of the Nordics region, Vinay Firake, shed light on the company’s strategic alliance with Nokia for over 20 years, which was formed on shared values.

Vijay revealed that both the companies share a common goal – to achieve measurable and impactful business outcomes through automation, technology and digitization.

As per Rod Lindsay, Wipro’s vice president of global business services, the company will be a long-term partner for supporting the transformation of the Nokia GBS (global business service) service delivery over the next five years.

Lindsay also added that this partnership will mark a significant step in their journey to deliver tangible benefits to Nokia Business Groups through seamless service integration, unified service desk, and GBS’s improved performance and transparency.

Notably, Wipro also aims to assist Nokia in winning in the 5G era and beyond.

For the record, the company mentioned this deal in its financial statements for the quarter and year ended March. However, the customer’s name, details of the tenure and size of the deal were not mentioned.
